Plumbers Union Local 690 wants to run Rose Tree Media School District and local elections. Contributes $10,000 towards Mid-County Democrat canidates

Philadelphia Labor Unions are seeking to run the Rose Tree Media School District and other local elections by way of candidates supported by the Mid-County Democratic Party.  Here's a 2017 campaign finance report showing a contribution to the Mid-County Dems for over $10,000 by just the Phildalephia Plumbers Union alone.  The committee's biggest contributor by far.  In turn, the MCD has been funding candidates running for office which includes: RTMSD, Middletown, Upper Providence, and District Judge.

Campaign funding for local elections are typically raised within the community for candidates from the community.

  1. Bad, bad news for Rose Tree schools. I moved away from Philly to escape their schools.

  2. unions are clawing their way in - tied to the hip with Democrats, can't wait to see what happens to our taxes! I feel an "Upper Darby" rate in our future.

  3. Wow, the money doled out by the Mid County Dems implicates a lot of their candidates supported by the Middletown Coalition against the pipeline. It all comes down to politics.

The veil is lifted, all hell will break loose.

So will all of the newly elected GOP members of the PA Legislature resign their seats and give money back to Scott Wagner?

  6. Just what we need, Philly politics in Upper Providence, Middletown and Media. Looks like the pay to play culture of Philly politics is coming to a neighborhood near you. Talk about a scary Halloween!

  8. That's an unheard of amount given to local candidates. These unions will have Rose Tree Media gutted within two years. How stupid can you be to be in the back pockets of Philly Bosses and still campaign knowing this.

  9. Unions are the bad guys?
The ones who work for decent wages and benefits?
I'm sure no Republican candidate has accepted any donatio s from.groups and companies who oppose thrm.Companies seeking LOWER WAGES and benefits.
Union members play plenty of taxes too..fake alarm bells..of course it is the GOP.dream of a land with below poverty wages and no health insurance..

  11. Looks like Philly union bosses want to expand their influence into Rose Tree Media. Our schools will decline and test scores will plummet just like the Philly public schools.

  12. This'll be a true test to see if Media and the RTM school board fold into the Philly machine and become West Philly like Upper Darby has. The unions won't stop at just a school board.

  13. Makes total sense the philly wage tax drive out companies and families now philly
Politicians need to come to the burbs to exert more control and influence
RTMSD is doing just fine we don't need Robert Kelly involved in the school district

  14. 8 people shot in Chester over the weekend and now this? Delco is quickly swirling around the drain.

How did the county become a bad place to live? Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly."

  15. Jesus, this is scary alright! Folks the only way we can combat this is to show up at the polls to preserve our quality of life, or we are destined to become Chester, in township and in schools. Tedman if it weren't for you this information would have remained under cover - how many Philadelphia plumbers would have gotten no-bid work orders from the townships or school district should their 'ticket' be elected? People need to understand these local elections affect your lives more so than any national election ever will. Once again you scoop the Daily Times and show that they have no interest in releasing genuine news items that will implicate their favorite liberals.

  16. unions give to Democrat School Board Candidates. School Board candidates then bend over and allow the unions to have their way at the table. Taxes go through the roof, school district's standing declines. Natural route of progression.

  17. any word on whether Local 98 Mob Boss Johnny Doc will now get involved?

  18. Any word if Delco GOP has taken any union money? Atomic, oil and chemical workers union?.Please Tedman tell us who is paying the GOP..

  19. How come no one is questioning the dem candidates about this? The 'girls' running for school board (Utis/Seal) are also backed by Emerge, the same liberal woman group who gave scads of money to Crooked Hillary, Wasserman-Schultz, Pelosi and that ilk. Next time Robert Kelly comes to your door, ask him about his union money......that'll shut him up.

  20. Great idea. What will happen with the next teachers contract if you get a union financed school board?

  21. How could you like a failed green energy executive. The company Solar City bleeds money same as what would happen with the school district
We don't need a MBA type performing financial engineering us in some kind if credit default swap

  22. The Dem candidates should be transparent about what kind of deals have been made for such a large political donation, especially from a Philly labor union. Doesn't pass the smell test.

  23. Can you imagine the Philly Union backed Democrats negotiating the next teachers contract with the Teachers Union? You don't think these two groups aren't already talking about the possibilities?

We're on the verge of the end of Rose Tree Media School District. I doubt the Dem candidates thought this type of information would get out to the public. What do they do? Apologize?

    1. Apologize??? Are you smoking crack? Justify is more like it, and then spin the fault to some mean ol' Republicans discovering their secret. Lets keep it simple - vote to keep the crooks out of our schools and courts!
