New American Flags Needed in Media, Borough

Media needs to replace the American flags with new ones.
By Trader Joe's, Spasso's and at the Borough Hall.

UPDATE 3/14

The flag has been replaced and it looks like the one by the Veteran's Wall (Spasso's) was replaced too.

UPDATE 3/13

The flag has since been removed from Trader Joes, so something is happening.  We'll keep you posted on developments.  Thanks for your support and comments on the matter.

As of 3/13, the tattered flag has been removed.

  1. Does the borough have the money to buy a new ones or should the VFWcdonate some
After spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on stopping the 3rd street bridge dam project no wonder they can't take care of the little things
At least they shoveled the walk at the pocket park

  2. The mayor is a veteran and should know better. Better not to have up at all if it's all in tatters but perhaps symbolic of our broken local gov't leadership

  3. Let's be fair! The Flag video in your post is not at Trader Joes it is at the Veterans Museum. I am sure as soon as our local war heroes who volunteer at the museum get it back opened, after the past few storms, they will be replacing the Flag asap and disposing of the old one in a correct ceremony!

    2. While Rudy Giuliani mightbe another politician turned wealthy there is a lot of truth in take care of the little things and well everyone knows the rest I guess Jeff Smith and Mayor McMayon don't prescribe to this style of mangt

  5. I'm glad the flags have been replaced! Thanks for the update, but can we please be clear about one thing! This has nothing to do with corporate America (Trader Joe's, & Spasso's) or Political Parties! These flags are associated with the Veterans Museum and Wall of Honor for our local heroes!

    1. These business's and nonprofits are within the boroughs So the borough manager and the mayor are responsible to make sure guidelines and followed through with- follow through with being the key point many action items never get started or completed in this borough- sidewalks falling apart,
Municipal garages in marginal and questionable condition, money spent before the ink was dry on the check I.e. Sunoco logistics easement monies. Et al

  6. The flag poles and flags are owned by the borough (raised and lowered accordingly by the police department and/or the highway department). Everybody on this blog has an opinion, but most don't have a clue.

    1. Stay on it and keep the flags in proper condition or maybe it should be outsourced to the borough gardener
