Orange Street Garage Closure to Inconvenience

Due to a structural failure, the County of Delaware's parking garage on Orange Street will be closed.  Adjacent streets will also be closed until the structure is stabilized.  No time frame on when that will happen and the streets re-opened.

Street Closures:
  • Orange Street - Front Street to Third Street
  • Citron Street – Front Street to Third Street
  • Amber Street – Orange Street to Citron Street
  • Second Street – Orange Street to Citron Street

Orange Street being heavily travelled between Media and Upper Providence illustrates the importance of unobstructed roadways and the need to have roads opened like the Third Street Bridge.

Also, what was ever done regarding the second repair of Olive Street Garage?

  2. Classic - while all this is going on, and the clowns whining about the sign at BLCC (calling attention to a woefully inept response to fixing Third St) there is now limited traffic routing on the West side. If I lived over there I'd be livid.

  3. Brian Hall instructed the borough of media's retained engineer Kevin Mattson to look into it and as usual crickets is what you hear about on the follow up another media borough debacle

    1. Isn't this a Delaware County issue, not Media Borough?

  4. Doesn't matter your political persuasion, or what kool aid you're drinking, this nation's infrastructure is old and underfunded. If you're one that complains about taxes, you have no legitimate complaint about this problem. In fact, it means you like it. Republicans need to get their heads out of their fracking gases on this issue. Truth.

    1. The government continues to get record high revenue, even after the federal tax cuts. Our politicians spend the money on BS instead of where they should and this falling down garage is one more example of bad policies.

  6. Why is this a Media Borough issue? It is County Courthouse.
