Posted detours of state routes can only be along other state routes. Then consideration has to be given in that trucks are only permitted on certain state routes. 322 and 452 are the only ones that fit those criteria, hence why they were chosen.
Plus, they're for those who are unfamiliar to the area. Locals will just hop on Darlington and take it to Valley.
Those listed detours are a disgrace. There are multiple significant time saving routes around that closure.
