MEDIA – The Media-Upper Providence Free Library, 1 E. Front St. in Media, will host its Spring Book Sale on April 27 and 28, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 29, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (extended hours on bag day by popular demand!) Offering more than 40,000 books, magazines, DVDs, records, games and collectibles, this popular, highly anticipated event draws people from throughout the county and beyond.
The items are donated throughout the year by residents in and around Media and Upper Providence. Thanks to this generosity, the sale is able to offer a range of materials that appeal to people of all ages and interests. Most items are priced between $1-$2 on Saturday, and are half priced on Sunday. Monday is $5 bag day.
A dedicated team of volunteers spends many hours organizing, pricing and arranging the materials. The volunteers also promote and staff the event.
“These dedicated volunteers are experts in the subject areas they oversee. Through the years, they’ve accumulated a wealth of knowledge that rivals any book seller. They do an outstanding job organizing and running our book sale,” says Sandra Samuel, the library’s director.
The main sale will be in the basement of the library, which is fully accessible with wide aisles and an elevator.
All proceeds from the sale benefit the library.
