BREAKING NEWS: Media residents begin petition over lack of progress and proposed limited acess to Third St. Bridge

BREAKING NEWS:

In response to a lack of progress by Media Borough Council on the fully funded Third Street Bridge project, Media residents have begun rallying behind a petition today supporting two way access across the proposed structure.

Below is a copy sent to me late this afternoon. Residents are going door to door asking for signatures.

    1. Don't worry, he won't forget them when he floats a bond in their name!

  2. Former Councilman Jim Cunningham surmised there was a silent majority that wanted the bridge/roadway 2-Way. Boy, was he right.
I took the petition around N. Monroe Street and got 15 signatures in 30 minutes.

  3. Bring it to Upper Providence our address is Media also!!! Give the folks on Orange Street at the Kirk Lane intersection a chance to sign it - I'm sure they'd appreciate a decline in traffic!!!

  4. After all this time, after all the meetings, and after all the commiserating, I have yet to see the evidence of the one, compelling, and desperately-needed piece of information that professionals and the public time and time resort to when it comes to transportation decisions...... a traffic study.

    1. How do traffic study on bridge/road that's been closed for 16 years? 0 traffic since 1996, AND COUNTING. DUH?

    2. Uhmm.... hate to tell you buddy, but that's precisely what traffic studies do. They even evaluate scenarios that never have been, what should be, and what works. Talk with a traffic engineer and get a clue.

  5. Generally, a petition has contact information for the sponsoring group and links to fact based sources.
