Media's Pet Waste Station Overflowing - Media Borough has been notified

10/24/13 9:02am Update: Per email, Media Borough is aware of the situation and taking the necessary steps to correct the problem.

Tonight I received a message that at least one of the pet waste stations in Media have been overflowing for the last three days.  I don't have an answer for why this is happening, but I've reached out to the borough manager, Jeff Smith.

This is a bit odd, as I've not seen this happen before. Let me know if others are experiencing this.  Thanks to the concerned resident that brought this to my attention.

  1. I just put my dog's bag in the one at 3rd and Olive and it was not overflowing. As a person who makes regular use of the pet waste stations I'd say that 95% of the time they're emptied and have an ample supply of bags. I appreciate being able to use them, but sadly not every dog walker does.

  2. I just noticed that the entire pet station is missing from 3rd & West. Just a hole in the ground where it was. I hope this was not vandalism.

    2. OOOOOOOOOhhh that wretched swim club again! They are responsible for all that is wrong - let's blame them for the war in the Syria, the dismal failure that is Obamacare, and the 18 trillion dollar deficit. Nasty swim club, tsk tsk tsk.

Wait! Third and West? Rumor has it the FROG's thought this waste can decimated precious parklands and rallied borough council to promptly remove it - but not before appointing a CAC to decide if pet waste removal was a travesty to the community.

    3. Wait!!! Third and West? Guess do as i say and not as i do ------Councilman Davidson moved it so there would not be any dog shit in front of his house. First no cars are allowed to drive by now no dogs are allowed to do there business near his house.

Wait!!!! Third and West? Guess "do as i say not as i do" ---------Councilman Davidson is at it again-------
You are not allowed to raise farm animals in the Boro it is against the Boro Health Code but does that stop "Do as i say not as i do" Councilman Davidson from raising chickens in his back yard? Nope because Kent is better than all of us "residents" he can do what he pleases ---- with Third St., With the Dam, with Chickens, With Pet Waste Stations, with Media---just remeber to float a bond it will solve all the problems..............

    4. Wow, if we're playing "guess why the waste station is missing" games to suit our own point of view can I suggest that a drunk driver with a GPS hit it because they were trying to sneak out of Media over the 3rd street bridge? I'm still convinced that most of the traffic over that bridge out of town at night will be drunks trying to avoid more well traveled roads and/or people who work (but don't live) in town trying to drag race around existing traffic.

    5. Maybe the waste station is still there but someone out a big tarp around it so the community wouldn't monitor the violations listed in the letter posted by the DEP which, oh, is also missing.

    6. "The community wouldn't monitor"? Please. The only self-appointed monitors who stick their noses into business where it doesn't belong are Rumsey and Indorf, who go running right to Chicken Man Davidson.

    7. It is the public's business when a private lake is not lowered and threatens the public park downstream. The public notice which is missing specifically asked the public to report problems to the state agency. And the public is paying for the project. So that makes it everyone's business.

  3. Next thing you know, the public works crews will be running around with TP to wipe our doggies' bottoms.

  4. Maybe it's gone because some freak decided to stuff his dead cat in it.

  5. Even if you are emptying the waste bins and keeping the stations fully stocked with litter bags, you should also be sure the stations are in good working order and have not become a safety hazard. Any broken parts on the station should be noted and replacements ordered.
